We are seeking a highly motivated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 3 years of public accounting experience . Leadership experience is a strong plus, as this role may involve supervision and mentoring of a small team . Key Responsibilities Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns Perform financial statement preparation, general ledger reviews, and account reconciliations Conduct tax research and provide well-documented, practical tax planning recommendations Maintain client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor Assist with IRS and state agency audits, notices, and compliance matters Support and manage junior staff (if applicable), reviewing work for accuracy and providing coaching Ensure timely and accurate completion of engagements in accordance with firm and industry standards Stay up to date with tax law changes and industry best practices Qualifications Active CPA license required Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in public accounting Strong understanding of tax law and financial reporting standards Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively Proven experience with accounting and tax software (e.g., UltraTax, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) Leadership or small team management experience is a plus Preferred Skills Ability to explain complex financial information in plain terms to clients Enthusiasm for mentoring and team development Familiarity with high-net-worth individuals, S-corp planning, and multi-state tax issues Comfort with remote collaboration and cloud-based tools Company Description Peter Holtz CPA has been a leader in tax planning, consulting, and accounting services.
