Construction Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Accountant to join a leading organization in the exciting and fast-paced construction industry. Based in Renton, WA, this role offers the chance to work closely with project teams, manage financial workflows, and ensure the company's financial data is efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the financial side of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and job costing.
• Process and analyze Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), specifically for subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare and maintain detailed WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports for ongoing projects.
• Oversee construction-related financial compliance, including preparation of AIA billing and lien releases.
• Assist in payroll processing, including certified payroll and labor-cost allocations.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy across systems.
• Partner with key internal and external stakeholders, including project managers and auditors, to provide insights based on financial data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, including a focus in the construction or real estate industries.
• Strong understanding of construction billing processes, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Experience using construction ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300/Timberline, Procore, or QuickBooks).
• Proficient in advanced Excel functionality (e.g., macros, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
