Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing Location: Scottsdale, AZ Position Type: Full-Time Overview The Creative Design Manager plays a critical role in shaping the visual identity, storytelling, and experiential design across all client-facing proposals, presentations, and onsite activations. This position leads the creative team in conceptualizing, designing, and executing compelling visuals/events that align with each event’s goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of event design, a creative and innovative mindset and a solid understanding of the local area and DMC offerings. Key Responsibilities Creative Direction & Execution Lead the creative design process of event proposals, visual presentations, event design, decor plans, and overall event/program vision. Collaborate with the sales team and clients to develop vision boards for themed events, bringing creative concepts to life. This role is also responsible for sourcing new vendors, generating fresh ideas, and presenting innovative event design solutions to clients. Ensure visual consistency and quality across all marketing and proposal materials. Continuously research and stay ahead of industry trends, tools and technologies within the DMC and hospitality industry. This includes attending relevant tradeshows and networking events. Manage creative workflows from intake to delivery, prioritizing projects and assigning tasks (if managing a team). Collaborate closely with the Account Executives to interpret RFPs to bring visions to reality. Oversee and manage the creative budget provided by the DOSM. Oversee creative design tools and software subscriptions. Develop internal creative resource libraries. Brand Management Ensure brand consistency across all DMC marketing and client-facing collateral with DOSM. Lead the creation of seasonal, destination-specific, and on-brand templates and libraries. Serve as the go-to creative expert within the company. Drive innovation by staying ahead of trends and pushing creative boundaries to ensure every concept feels original, impactful, and unforgettable. Participate in brainstorming and pitch development sessions with sales team. Participate in client-facing meetings and presentations to convey creative vision. Help evolve the DMC’s creative offerings based on trends, client feedback, and industry insights. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Event Design, Hospitality or a related field. 5+ years of experience in a creative design role (preferably in events, marketing or hospitality) with at least 2 years in leadership. Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in experiential design, event branding, and visual narration. Proficiency in Adobe, Canva, and rendering tools (e.g., Social Tables). Understanding of event production, theming, spatial planning, and digital design. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to various working styles and collaborating effectively with diverse personalities across teams. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
