The Design Manager will promote a culture focused on effective project delivery by supporting clients, project teams, and the company through facilitation and coaching during design and preconstruction phases, ensuring a smooth transition to construction. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include: Lead project teams including owners, design teams, and trade partners, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment. Establish an integrated team experience through role clarity, effective communication, and fostering collaboration. Facilitate and collaborate with internal departments and project teams. Manage team onboarding and promote accountability throughout the design process. Coordinate design and decision planning with construction teams, design teams, and owners. Mentor and guide design and preconstruction team members for clear direction and execution. Guide design teams through negotiations to establish project scope and program. Engage with clients and designers to share Brasfield & Gorrie’s integrated delivery approach. Qualifications Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, industrial engineering, or related field. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. 5+ years experience in facilitation and collaborative delivery methods. Specific experience in industrial manufacturing design, process layout, cleanroom, food and beverage sectors preferred. Strong CAD and Revit skills preferred. Willingness to travel up to 60%. Passion for leading change and improving industry processes. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to speak confidently to groups of 30+ and coach diverse teams.
