We are looking for a high school student interested in working with your hands, solving mechanical problems, and learning about diesel engines. Join our team as a Part-Time Diesel Technician. Gain real-world experience in a growing industry — with the potential to earn a Build Dakota Scholarship for post-secondary education in diesel technology!
Duties may include:
Assist experienced diesel technicians in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing diesel engines and equipment
Perform basic maintenance tasks (oil changes, filter replacements, cleaning parts and work areas)
Use basic hand tools and shop equipment under supervision
Requirements:
Current high school junior or senior (at least 16 years old)
Interest in diesel technology
Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment
Good attendance record and strong work ethic
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Flexible, part-time hours built around your school schedule
Exposure to a high-demand career field with real advancement potential
Mentorship from experienced diesel technicians
Eligibility for a partnership with Zomer's to receive a full Build Dakota Scholarship at a participating South Dakota technical college (covering tuition, fees, tools, and more)
Potential for full-time employment after graduation
