Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000

Position Summary:

The mission of the Office of Performance Management is to create sustainable data-driven operations in programmatic and central divisions in order to increase effectiveness and achieve mission-driven outcomes for children. Performance Analysts accomplish this by strengthening the behaviors and capabilities of leadership at all levels to be data-driven. Performance Analysts fulfill a broad range of responsibilities over their independent areas of focus, which are guided by a shared departmental vision and coordinated in a team. Program areas include early childhood education, afterschool, youth development, health, mental health, child welfare, and others. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Using logic models, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement cycles;
  • Developing data collection, management, and analysis protocols;
  • Conducting data analyses, producing reports, and testing hypotheses;
  • Identifying outcomes, monitoring implementation, and producing results reports for grants and contracts;
  • Assisting in model development and fidelity measurement; and,
  • Providing training, technical assistance, and capacity building.


Essential Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with programs and central departments to implement all phases of continuous quality improvement, including but not limited to identifying indicators, planning data collection, analyzing operational and outcomes data, developing improvement strategies when needed, and monitoring ongoing performance.
  • Participate in division leadership and staff meetings to build capacity at all levels for driving performance management.
  • Advise leadership on how to collaboratively advance data-driven culture.
  • Work with division leadership to define program models appropriate to division operations and funding expectations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of programs and be able to anticipate needs and meet them through a data-driven approach.
  • Manage and analyze data in an applied setting. Provide written analyses and visual representations of performance.
  • Assist programs and central departments in meeting regulatory, contractual, and best practice standards, as well as maximal operational efficiency.
  • Work with other performance management staff to collectively support departmental work and promote accountability and learning throughout Children's Aid.


Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office with exceptional Excel/Power BI skills required; proficiency in R/Python preferred.
  • Strong analytic skills required. Ability to meet deadlines and creatively problem-solve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfort performing hands-on work as well as serving as project manager on projects and activities.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and communicate effectively about data with multiple stakeholders in writing and verbally.


Minimum Qualifications :

  • Minimum three years of experience evaluating and improving program or operational performance in a non-profit or government setting. Direct experience with applied research techniques is helpful.
  • A Bachelor's in social work, psychology, education, or other field related to the work of the organization; Master's degree preferred.
