Job Description & RequirementsTitle:Registered Nurse\nLocation: Richmond IN \nDuration: 13 weeks\nShift: 06:00 AM 07:00 PM Flexible\n36hours per week\nDay shift hours are 0600a to 1900p with a half hour lunch, 12.5H day, 37.5H one week, 50H next week, alternating\n\nOrientation Schedule: Week 1 - Monday to Friday 0800-1600; Weeks 2, 3 and 4- Monday to Friday flexible schedule - part classroom instruction and then shadowing on unit. Candidate cannot miss any time during this 4 week orientation period. Candidate must be available for a 9/15/2025 or 9/22/2025 orientation date, with all compliance items completed 1 week prior to orientation\nSchedule And Restrictions:\n \nCandidate will be required to be flexible with schedule, to include weekend and holiday rotations. Must work every other weekend \nCandidate will be required to float to other units within their scope of practice as needed\nAny scheduled time off requests (i.e. vacation, personal day) need to be presented to the manager for approval at least 4 weeks in advance\nProof of Flu vaccination or ISPHN religious/medical declination are required\nIn the event of illness or emergency requiring candidate to miss a scheduled shift, candidate will contact nursing services at least 2 hours prior to scheduled shift\nAny scheduled time off requests (i.e. vacation, personal day) need to be presented to the manager for approval at least 4 weeks in advance\nScrub color is Navy Blue\nAbout the Job:\n \nAs the Nurse, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating patient care and clinical supervision of support staff. You will assess patient health problems and needs, develop, and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.\nA Day in the Life:\nPrioritize and organize the daily care of patients.\nMake patient care assignments and assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff.\nProvide ongoing assessment and documentation of the patients' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge.\nDirect support staff to coordinate the workflow on the unit and communicate problems to unit supervisors.\nAdminister medications and treatments according to facility's policies and procedures.\nDevelop and implement nursing care plans for nursing diagnosis or treatment plan changes.\nComplete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff.\nCompletes required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms and other records.\nEducate patients and family members regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals and objectives.\nRespond and intervene to emergency situations and agitated patients.\nProvide orientation and support to staff to the unit.\nResponsible for ensuring the proper safety and infection control standards are met for the unit.\nWhat You'll Need for Success:\nThis person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:\nAssociate degree in Nursing from an accredited college.\nLicense to practice nursing in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse.\nMust hold and maintain a CPR certification.\nMust stay current with behavioral intervention training.\nProficiency in computer skills and ability to learn other programs used in maintaining electronic medical records.\nGood interpersonal skills, good verbal, and written communication skills.\nAbility to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.\nAbility to use MS Office applications and electronic patient records.\nAbility to serve as a patient advocate.\nKnowledge of and the ability to interpret nursing and facility policies and procedures.\nAdditional knowledge and/or ability may be required based on the population the facility serves such as: children, adolescents, geriatrics, etc.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:\nThis role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.\nDifficulty of Work:\nYour work requires the performance of a full range of nursing care for patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses and varying degrees of illness. Judgment is needed in applying appropriate nursing care procedures.\nResponsibility:\nSupervision is based on standard medical orders from the physician. However, this position is legally responsible for his/her nursing actions. You will receive limited supervision and work is reviewed for general adequacy in judgment and conformance with policy.\nPersonal Work Relationships:\nWorks in collaboration with other disciplines daily. You will need to maintain a professional attitude and can communicate nursing principles to others. You will interact with patients, families, guardians, and health care representatives to educate and promote safety and welfare as allowed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPM) guidelines. You will serve as an advocate for the patient. You will need to communicate and work with support staff to promote a safe environment.\n\nPersonal Work Relationships:\nThis individual will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders\nworking towards completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and/or the general public.\nA high level of judgement and effective communication is required during times of contact\nwith facility residents/offenders.\nPartnership with relevant public agencies, federal, state & local governments and/or\ncommunity leaders may be required.\nFacility residents or offenders may have family, friends, community partners and/or other\ninterested parties come to the facility requesting information or to visit with the resident\naccording to policies and procedures.\nThis position will communicate directly with children and families on a regular basis.\n\nPhysical Effort:\nThis role requires the ability to run short distances to provide immediate care, protection, or attention to patients or offenders.\nDepending on the duties performed or environment setting, frequent walking, standing,\nclimbing stairs or ladders, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and/or similar movements may be involved.\nThis role requires the ability to lift and transport items up to 50 lbs. with or without the assistance of equipment.\nThis role requires above average strength when restraining one or more patients or offenders as per departmental policy and procedure.\nThis role requires keen observational and hearing skills to stay alert for possible dangerous situations.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nThis role performs work in an environment where exposure to gas/fumes, dust, grease,\nnoise, vibrations and/or soiling of clothing and skin surfaces may occur.\nThis role requires a high level of attention and safety due to work activities having risk of\ninjury or loss of life.\nThis role performs work in a state operated hospital facility.\nThere is potential for exposure to infectious diseases in this role.\nThere is potential for exposure to hazardous materials on site and/or in the lab.\nOperations may require this role to be available after hours (on-call) and/or work rotating\nshifts, evenings and weekends, or irregular hours.\nThis role requires the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when\nnecessary.\nThis role may experience periods of high stress and/or pressure.\n\nCompetencies\n • Critical Thinking\n• Communicating Effectively\n• Managing Stress\n• Navigating Organizations\n\n JobDiva # 25-38557
